Visit to Okehampton  Thursday 9th June May 2022

A visit to Okehampton on Thursday 9th June . Travel along the newly reopened section of the Dartmoor line from Crediton to Okehampton, as well as a visit the Dartmoor railway museum at the station where a representative will meet us.

The station cafe is currently closed, however there is a plenty of options for lunch in Okehampton town centre, which is a steep down hill walk from the station of approximately 0.7 miles / 1 km.

If you would prefer not to walk up the hill back to the station, there is a bus available as follows:

The bus fare for rail ticket holders is £1.00,  There is no bus timed to connect with the 14.26 train.

There is also a 13.30 bus from the Railway Station to the Town Centre.

Educational Free Pass

This is an educational visit, so those members with protected (safeguarded) travel facilities can apply for an educational free pass.  Please see: Free Pass for further information.

The free pass ticket should be from your home station to Okehampton

Rail Tickets for those without an Educational Free Pass or ‘Priv’ Facilities

Outward:  Advance Single £38.60 or £25.45 with a valid railcard

Return: Advance Single £38.60 or £25.45 with a valid railcard.  Note the ticket is the same price on either the 14.26 or 15.25 trains - but you must travel on the train you have booked on with Advance Singles.

Advance tickets are quota-controlled so to secure the lowest cost ticket, booking as early as possible is strongly advised.

DO NOT use thetrainline or other similar third party sites as you will pay more as these sites charge fees which National Rail Train Operator websites do not charge.
