In the early to mid 1970 a series of quality illustrated posters was used to publicise Institution meetings at the Crewe Centre, drawn by David Gibbons, who also did the highly detailed illustrations for the Stock Spot section which frequently featured in the British Rail staff newspaper Railnews and also produced illustrations for the British Rail Driving Instruction Manuals for the wide variety of the different types of British Rail Locomotives and Coaches.  Some examples of his publicity for the Institution are included below:
