Join us for our Annual General Meeting 2023, which this year is going to be held in a vintage London Midland & Scottish Railway coach at Rowsley South on Peak Rail.

An optional  buffet lunch and trip on ride Peak Rail is also available, in addition to the AGM.

Travelling though scenic Derbyshire countryside, Peak Rail runs on 4 miles of track between Matlock and Rowsley South, which was once part of the Midland Railway line between Manchester Central and London St Pancras, closed in 1968.

Educational Free Pass

This is an educational visit, so those members with protected (safeguarded) travel facilities can apply for an educational free pass.

The free pass ticket should be from your home station to Matlock

Rail Tickets for those without an Educational Free Pass or ‘Priv’ Facilities

At the time of writing, National Rail tickets for the journey from St Pancras to Matlock are not yet on sale on the rail booking sites.

A super off-peak return St Pancras to Matlock is £72 (£47.50 with a  valid railcard), but it should be possible to use advance tickets to reduce this cost.

Book at: East Midlands Railway or other train operator site.

DO NOT use thetrainline or other similar third party sites as you will pay more as these sites charge booking fees, which National Rail Train Operator websites do not charge, and the revenue for the commission for selling the ticket will be lost to UK railways.

Cost

For the AGM, buffet and return journey from Matlock to Rowsley South the price is £25.00 per person.

It is also to possible to attend the AGM only (make your own way to Rowsley South) with no buffet, for free.

Note that debit / credit card payments are securely processed by Stripe.  It will also be possible to pay by Google Pay & Apple Pay from 7th March 2023

If you wish to just attend the AGM, without the train ride and buffet, you can also use the booking form, without payment.

Attendance at the AGM is for L&CI Members only please.

Return Travel (including train times for those travelling to London)

The AGM will be held in a restored LMS coach at Rowley South station.

Tea and coffee will be available  upon arrival at 12.30.

The AGM will commence at 12.50 and conclude by 13.50, in-accordance with the Institution Rules

A cold buffet will then be severed from 14.00 to 14.50
