Swiss Charter Train

Following on from the successful "Breaking of the Ice" tour in November 2005, another Swiss railtour will be operated between Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October, in association with Mercia Charters. 

This tour is open to all - you do not need to be a Locomotive & Carriage Institution Member

Very cheap flights can currently be booked to Switzerland for this period - so it is recommended that bookings are made as soon as possible to secure the best fare.

Full requested route: Interlaken Ost (pu) - Spiez (pu) - Thun - Münsingen - Bern avoiding line - Lyss - Biel/Bienne avoiding line - Lengnau -Moutier - Delémont - Laufen - Basel SBB - Basel Bad Bhf - Basel Kleinhüningen Hafen - Basel Bad Bhf - Basel SBB RB - Basel avoiding line - Münchenstein - Basel avoiding line - Basel SBB RB - Pratteln - Rheinfelden - Stein-Säckingen - Laufenburg - Koblenz - Turgi - Baden - Wettingen - Baden Oberstadt - Mellingen - Lenzburg - Aarau - Olten - Langenthal - Burgdorf - Zollikofen - Bern avoiding line - Münsingen - Thun - Spiez (sd) - Interlaken Ost (sd)

Basel Depot Visit

Sunday 1st October:

Full requested route: Interlaken Ost (pu) - Spiez (pu) - Thun - Belp - Bern - Kerzers - Neuchâtel - Biel/Bienne - Grenchen Süd - Solothurn - Oensingen - Balsthal - Oensingen - Olten - Aarburg-Oftringen - Langenthal - Burgdorf - Hasle-Rüegsau - Konolfingen - Thun - Balmholz (Thun Docks) - Thun - Spiez (sd) - Interlaken Ost - Boningen Werkstatte - Interlaken Ost (sd).

We are expecting the tour will use a minimum of 8 locomotives over the two days of our charters.

Cost of the tour is £182 per person.  Note that this excludes travel to Switzerland and accommodation.
