Ashford Railway Library and bus trip to Lydd Saturday 5th December Meet at the front of Ashford station for the 10.30 bus to Lydd, viewing the rail connection to Dungerness Power Station and the Romney Hythe and Dymchrurch Railway. The bus arrives back at Ashford at 12.20 for a short walk to the library which is one of only two special railway libraries in the country. For those without protected or other free travel facilities, an off-peak return (valid anytime Saturday) from London to Ashford International is £17.60 or £11.60 with a railcard. This ticket is a 'walk-on' fare and available on any return train on the date of the outward journey. These tickets can be purchased at the ticket office on the day, or alternatively, avoid the queue and book in advance at south eastern railway.
