Tuesday 6th January 2009 Annual General Meeting & Lunch at the Middleton Railway Including optional lunch and special tour of the line by Steam TrainBOOKINGS NOW CLOSED
All members are invited to attend the Institution's AGM, which will commence at 11.30 on Tuesday 6th January 2009 in the Conference Room, Middleton Railway, The Station, Moor Road, Leeds, LS10 2RQ Situated 2 miles from the centre of Leeds, the Middleton Railway was established in 1758. Operated by volunteers since 1960, the railway has been in continuous use for 250 years. Members will be able to visit the Engine House to view the fine collection of industrial locomotives, many of which were built in Leeds. Please note that the Engine House is not heated, though the rest of the building does have central heating. There is an optional buffet lunch followed by a special tour of the entire line by steam train *. * Note if the steam train is unavailable a Drewry Railcar maybe used instead.
